Effective April 1, 2024, the Metro Waste Authority will be implementing a rate increase for all their landfills and transfer stations. This directly affects all residents and businesses in the Iowa DNR Plan Areas Serving: Alleman, Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Carlisle, Clive, Des Moines, Elkhart, Grimes, Hartford, Johnston, Mingo, Mitchellville, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill, Polk City, Prairie City, Runnells, Sheldahl, Unincorporated Polk County, Urbandale, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Dawson, Jefferson, Linden, Minburn, Perry, Redfield, Unincorporated Dallas County, Waukee.
As an Uncontrollable cost for ASI, the increase will be passed on to our customers with a rate increase to the current trash collection charges effective April 1, 2024. We understand how costs continue to rise for everything and work hard to keep our costs and charges to a minimum. A landfill increase in rates directly affects the services we provide.
